Sanitary products are a basic human right!
Project Peony
Basis of Peony
Girls and women that don't have access to sanitary products aren't able to attend school.
They thus have a less complete education and aern't able to access higher-paying jobs.
This is called a poverty trap, a cycle that prevents women from reaching them maximum potential!
Help us BREAK the cycle!

Peony Intervention
The best way to end period poverty is at the root. By providing young girls and women with the tools (sewing machines, thread, fabric and instructions) to make their own reusable sanitary products, as well as a workshop with a seamstress to teach them how it is done, we are able to improve their school attendance. It is crucial that they are self-sufficient since reliance on charities only plunges them deeper into the trap, making it harder for them to escape the cycle when the charities eventually leave.

Manila Workshop
Since January we've been fundraising to purchase 4 sewing machines, fabric and thread for a school in Manila. In June we hosted a workshop run by a local seamstress to teach the girls as well as some teachers and mentors how to make reusable pads.
